Chevy Commons

Wade Trim led a consultant team to redevelop the former Chevy-in-the-Hole site, a languishing brownfield on the edge of Flint’s downtown, into an urban recreational resource that supports the City’s downtown revitalization. The blueprint for this site was created by Wade Trim within the Flint Riverfront Restoration Plan with a vision for a destination urban space that utilizes advanced design technologies and native plants to enhance Flint’s waterfront. Wetlands, woodlands, and grasslands were used to recreate a naturalized environment that will enable other community assets to be in and adjacent to the park. Phytoremediation and other soil contamination mitigation techniques were used to combat soil pollution.
