Wade Trim Honored as Firm of the Year
Wade Trim was awarded 2005 Firm of the Year by the American Council of
Engineering Companies of Michigan. The award recognizes Wade Trim’s
contributions to the success of ACEC/M, advancements in the consulting
engineering profession, and participation in communities over the past two
years as highlighted below. Entries were
judged by ACEC of Wisconsin.
- Lee Grant, Vice President, is serving as President of ACEC/Michigan
- Doug Watson, President and CEO, is serving as the national ACEC Vice
Chairman and is a member of ACEC’s Design Professionals Coalition
- Seven employees are participating in committees to help improve the offerings
of ACEC/Michigan to its membership
- Presented at over 25 professional association conferences and meetings
focusing on engineering, planning, surveying, transportation, GIS, and storm water issues
- Received Eminent Conceptor Award in 2004 for the US-131 Value Engineering project and Honorable Conceptor Award for the Greenfield Village Restoration
- Achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification for municipal engineering, community planning and design, construction engineering, surveying and project management in all offices
- Ranked #15 in Civil Engineering News’ 2004 Top 50 Civil Engineering Firms to Work For
- Grand Rapids office was a top ten finalist for West Michigan’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in 2004 by the Michigan Business and Professional Association and received a Community Initiative Elite Award
- Bay City office received a 2004 Family Friendly Employer Award sponsored by the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce
- Participated company-wide in Make a Difference Day, the world’s largest community service undertaking, to clean up parks, waterfronts and downtown areas in nearby communities
- Mentored middle school classes at Redford Township’s St. Valentine School for the Michigan Regional Future City Competition for the past seven years
- Participated in high school co-op programs and offered internships as well as a $1,000 scholarship program for seniors in the Plymouth-Canton school district
- Offered $1,000 scholarships and summer internships to eight different universities
- Donated money to hospices in four states where we work and to the Hardee County Relief Effort in Florida in lieu of sending holiday cards
