Florida Office Receives Two Planning Awards

Venice’s EAR promotes preservation of City character

The Florida office received an Award of Excellence in the category of Public Project or Report from the Florida Planning and Zoning Association (FPZA) for the Tamiami Tomorrow Revitalization Strategy. The FPZA also recognized the City of Venice Evaluation and Appraisal Report with an Award of Merit in the category of Public Innovation. The awards were presented at FPZA's annual state conference in Orlando, Florida.

Tamiami Trail Revitalization Strategy
Wade Trim worked with the City of Bradenton and Siemon & Larsen to develop a strategy to identify a vision and opportunities to reverse the decline of the Tamiami Trail Corridor in Bradenton, Florida. The multi-faceted strategy strives to promote economic growth while preserving important elements of the community. The strategy features a community character and resource study, redevelopment goals and objectives, market study, land-use plan and implementation strategy.

City of Venice Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR)
Wade Trim worked with the City of Venice to prepare its EAR as required by Florida’s Growth Management Act. The plan was recognized for its extensive use of public participation and graphic design in presenting the final report evaluating the City’s current comprehensive plan.
