Shane Sevo was one of 16 young engineers recently recognized in
National Engineers Week’s annual New Faces of Civil Engineering program.
The program honors engineers under the age of 30 for their contributions to
the engineering profession. Candidates are nominated by their employer and
selected by professional engineering societies. Shane was selected by the
American Council of Engineering Companies for his ability to integrate multimedia
technology into a civil engineering business environment. He uses computer-generated
illustrations and realtime interactive 3D environments to help clients visualize
their engineering projects before construction begins.
Shane is the Creative Director/Multimedia Producer in Wade Trim’s Taylor office.
He earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Cedarville University
and joined Wade Trim in 2000. He is a member of the SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics
Association and SemaFX (www.semafx.net), a community of animation
and visual effects artists in the metro Detroit area. Shane is also involved in
the local arts through a collaboration of independent film and media enthusiasts
known as SuperHouse (www.superhousemedia.com).
Engineers Week is a coalition of more than 70 engineering, education and
cultural societies, and more than 50 corporations and government agencies.
The New Faces of Engineering program is one of several initiatives sponsored
by the coalition to raise public awareness of engineers’ positive contributions
to society’s quality of life and to encourage high school and college
students to pursue an engineering career.
