Henry Ford Health System (HFHS), one of Michigan’s leading health care providers,
embarked on a program to update and expand its regional health care facilities
while aligning its campus locations to better serve southeast Michigan residents.
In Brownstown Township, Wade Trim worked cooperatively with Township officials, Hobbs+Black
Architects and construction manager, George W. Auch Company, to design and construct
the state-of-the-art Center for Health Services. The facility provides outpatient
surgery, wellness visits, and emergency services to the growing community.
The center’s campus design incorporates environmental amenities and aesthetic qualities that
complement the anchor building’s appearance and purpose while blending into the
surrounding land uses. Pedestrian plazas with wrought-iron benches, landscaping,
planters and walkways provide an attractive, park-like atmosphere where
patients and employees can feel rejuvenated in
a sustainable healing environment.
Wade Trim provided civil engineering and landscape services and assisted HFHS
with the campus concept plan, rezoning application, natural
features assessment, topographic survey, permitting, and traffic impact analyses.
The medical center opened in March 2006
and will ultimately grow into a full-service hospital facility.
