Wade Trim was recently honored as one of the best companies to work for by two
different organizations: The Michigan Business and Professional Association and
Crain’s Detroit Business.
The Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA) named Wade Trim as one of
Metropolitan Detroit’s "101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For" for the
fifth consecutive year. MBPA’s criteria includes diversity, work/life balance,
communication and recognition, education, development, recruitment and retention,
motivation, enthusiasm, compensation and benefits, community initiatives, and
strategic planning and integration.
Wade Trim was also one of 60 southeast Michigan companies recognized as a Cool Place
to Work by Crain’s Detroit Business. Firms are nominated by their
employees who complete an online survey
that is used to evaluate the firm’s policies, procedures and benefits. Firms receive a weighted score and
are ranked in five divisions based on company size. Wade Trim ranked
ninth in the category of 251-500 employees.
The firm’s Next Generation Committee
and Wade Trim University contributed to the firm’s Cool Place to Work designation.
The Next Generation Team is a standing committee whose mission is to develop and
recommend policies for the Board to adopt and implement that retain and attract
the next generation of inspirational and effective leaders. Wade Trim University
provides in-house training opportunities along with
external and web-based courses.
"Our programs, practices, and philosophy are structured to retain
talented staff and attract new employees to support company growth," says Doug Watson,
President and CEO of Wade Trim. "Key programs
include recruiting knowledgeable, team-oriented people; providing training seminars
and career planning to promote individual growth; conducting performance evaluations
based on improving personal development; and offering incentives such as profit
sharing, flex-time, family insurance, and top compensation. We actively promote
diversity and use several programs to recognize employee performance."
