A dam removal and river restoration project in the Village of Chesaning, MI, restored fish passage and natural river habitat while eliminating the liabilities associated with a failing dam. Grants from five agencies, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and local donors funded the construction of a natural rock rapids in the Shiawassee River.
