Bruce Walrad, PE, LEED®-AP, recently satisfied
the U.S. Green Building Council requirements to become an Accredited Professional in the
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) program of sustainable
design and construction. LEED® accreditation demonstrates a commitment to the
understanding and implementation of green building practices, as well as a familiarity with the
specific requirements, resources, and processes through which new projects can be certified.
As a project manager involved with land development projects for governmental, institutional,
and private clients, Bruce directs and participates in the survey, design, and permitting of
various projects. He has expertise in the development and renovation of large campuses with
significant environmental, regulatory and permitting requirements. He holds Bachelor of Science
in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Environmental Engineering degrees from Wayne
State University. In addition, he is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers,
and the Michigan and National Societies of Professional Engineers.
Bruce is currently supporting final site construction and closeout activities at the 76-acre
Henry Ford Hospital in West Bloomfield, Michigan, which was designed according to the
latest sustainable design standards.
