U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit River Greenways Master Plan
Wade Trim served as Manager for a pre-planning study along the Detroit
River between the Ambassador Bridge and the Belle Isle Bridge. The study
identified potential greenway system projects that will assist in meeting
the vision of the study partners. Study results indicated that there is
Federal interest in entering into the next phase of a water resources
project that could be a feasibility level study, or possibly another
Corps of Engineer authority.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit River and Belle Isle Restoration Study
Wade Trim undertook a study of shoreline/seawall structural stability along
the Detroit River and assessment of potential riverfront habitat restoration.
Potential ecosystem restoration projects were identified that will assist in
meeting the visions of the study partners, City of Detroit and American
Heritage Rivers Initiative. Conceptual designs were developed to incorporate
bio-engineered shoreline protection techniques. A video summarizing the
project purpose and findings was also developed in DVD, VHS and Web versions.
