Wade Trim Foundation's 2024 Grant Impact: One Year Later

2024 was the Wade Trim Foundation’s second grant cycle! Under the theme “Investing in Our Communities”, five $5,000 grants were awarded to nonprofits for projects and events that improve their communities.

One year later, we asked them about the impact of their Wade Trim Foundation grant.

Grants primarily supported:

• All age groups: children through seniors
• All genders, races, and abilities
• Low to middle income

More than 8,000 individuals were impacted
by the grants and their programs!

Bronx River Alliance, Inc., Bronx, NY

The Bronx River Alliance serves as a coordinated voice for the river and works in harmonious partnership to protect, improve, and restore the Bronx River.

Program Supported by Wade Trim Foundation Grant: Installation of a living green roof atop of a storage container in Concrete Plant Park in the south Bronx. The funding allowed for the fortification of the container structures to be able to hold the weight of the incoming green roof.

“This project has inspired community members to envision new solutions to common problems. Through the implementation of this dynamic green roof, excess stormwater can be captured, mitigating problems such as flooding, erosion, and breeding ground for mosquitoes. The project also increases the total critical pollinator habitat in this waterfront park.”

Program Supported by Wade Trim Foundation Grant: Covenant Neighborhood Revitalization

“The Wade Trim Foundation’s generous grant played a critical role in enabling Habitat for Humanity to implement key elements of its Neighborhood Revitalization initiative in Saginaw. These funds directly supported essential exterior home repairs, including lead paint remediation, porch and deck restoration, and exterior painting, all aimed at improving the safety, livability, and longevity of homes in underserved neighborhoods.”

Macomb County Rotating Emergency Shelter Team (MCREST), Mt Clemens, MI

The MCREST provides homeless and displaced individuals in Macomb County the opportunity for successful transition to independence.

Program Supported by Wade Trim Foundation Grant: Homeless Shelter Bathroom Improvements

City of St. Johns Recreation Department, St. Johns, MI

St. Johns Recreation Department’s mission is to promote a broad, year-round range of quality indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities to residents of all ages and physical and mental abilities and encourage inter-generational participation in activities.
