The Wade Trim Foundation has awarded five $7,500 grants to deserving nonprofits that support and align with our mission. The 2025 grant recipients and their supported projects are detailed as follows. Founded in 2023, the Wade Trim Foundation’s mission is to positively impact the environment, communities, and quality of life through innovative infrastructure investments.
The Bronx River Alliance empowers South Bronx residents to restore the Bronx River as a healthy ecological, recreational, educational, and economic resource. Infrastructure improvements will be implemented along the Bronx River Water Trail, including the installation of wooden decks and platforms, new gravel pathways, and stabilization of steps at key sites.
Force Blue unites Special Operations veterans with marine conservation for mutual benefit. Their Fort Walton Beach Living Shoreline program is restoring and protecting a critical stretch of public coastline along the Florida Panhandle. Working with local partners, the program will install over 200 feet of limestone riprap to create a living barrier along the coast and improve quality of life for the local community.
Foster Families Navigation & Resource Center is committed to empowering and supporting foster, adoptive, and kinship families through resources, guidance, and a strong community. The Foster Families NRC Family Improvement Initiative is focused on upgrades to their primary facility to better meet the growing needs of foster families in their region. Cold storage expansion and critical improvements to the main level of the facility will be completed including ceiling repairs and electrical and HVAC updates.
Keep Omaha Beautiful fosters environmental and community stewardship through education, service, and advocacy. Created in partnership with the City of Omaha, Trees for Tomorrow is a tree canopy improvement program that is physically improving public places throughout Omaha by planting thousands of trees from 2024 to 2028. Diverse native species of trees that are well-suited to the climate of Omaha will be planted, increasing beauty while improving the environment.
Saginaw-Shiawassee Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, community, and hope. The Covenant Neighborhood Revitalization project aims to improve and preserve homes in the neighborhood. Supported improvements will consist of new construction infills, rehabilitation of vacant houses, and repairs to owner-occupied homes and rentals. Other efforts such as painting exteriors and repairs of house steps, porches, and storm doors will contribute to long-term preservation.
