Established in 2023, the Wade Trim Foundation is pleased to announce its inaugural grant recipients. The Foundation has awarded five, $5,000 grants to deserving nonprofit organizations whose projects support the Foundation’s 2023 theme, Investing in our Communities. The theme was chosen to reflect Wade Trim’s commitment to creating stronger communities.

This year’s grant cycle marks a pivotal moment in our journey, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact of our 2023 grant recipients!

Chippewa Nature Center, Midland, MI, for their Investing in Youth: Nature Study and STEM Equipment Package program. This grant will enhance engagement opportunities in nature for grades 3-12 by providing equipment to enable youth to explore natural spaces safely and effectively.

Downtown Small Business Association, Flint, MI, for their 2023 TREEmendous Tree Lighting Ceremony, which is intended to continue the revitalization of the city and seeks to engage Genesee County with the downtown community.

Heritage Park Petting Farm, Taylor, MI, for their Poultry Pasture, a designated housing and viewing space for rescued poultry, including turkey, geese, pheasant, quail, peafowl, and guinea fowl. In addition to providing safe outdoor space, this project will allow public interaction and education.

Pepin Academies, Tampa, FL, for their Campus Beautification project. This project, focused on landscaping improvements, will provide an attractive yet safe learning environment for Pepin’s students with disabilities as well as present a location that reflects pride in their East Tampa community and helps contribute to its improvement.

Tutoring Chicago for their Supporting High School Transition for Students Facing Economic Barriers program. This grant funding will support one-on-one tutoring for students from low-income backgrounds to help prepare them for high school.
