Administered by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Research Institute and ACEC/Michigan, the 2026 Wade Trim Engineering Scholarship was awarded to Mya Jarvis. A sophomore at Mid-Michigan College, Mya is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

Mya is passionate about developing infrastructure solutions for residential and commercial areas and building effective and safe transportation networks. She is captain of the Mid-Michigan College bowling team, a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and volunteers for Toys 4 Tots and as a coach for a high school’s bowling team. Mya was awarded the scholarship at ACEC/Michigan’s Engineering & Surveying Excellence Awards Gala in Detroit on March 7.

The Wade Trim Engineering Scholarship encourages the growth of the engineering profession and offers financial support to students pursuing a degree in civil or environmental engineering. Each year the scholarship is awarded to an eligible college student who has completed their freshman year and is enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program. Selection is based on the recipient’s academic performance, experience, community involvement, and references.
