To maintain natural gas distribution main standards, a utility client’s natural gas renewal program replaces cast iron, steel, and pre-1972 plastic underground infrastructure with current materials annually. Wade Trim has supported the client’s team in Southeast Michigan since 2015. Initially, we assisted with QA/QC and constructability reviews for plans. After reviewing more than 500 miles of distribution main, our services grew to include design, LiDAR scanning, field verification, gas main plan development, permitting, service work order development, routing and work order development, and construction package preparation. We have designed distribution main ranging from a 5-mile mini-grid to a 50-mile grid in compliance with Michigan Public Service Commission requirements.
