Wade Trim Foundation

The Wade Trim Foundation began in 2023 to reflect a core value integral to Wade Trim and its employees: stewardship. We believe in supporting nonprofits and programs that serve others and make our local communities stronger. This philosophy drives our work and resonates throughout our entire company.

The Wade Trim Foundation supports nonprofits through annual grants, and recipients are selected for their alignment with the Foundation’s mission. The 2026 application is closed. The next cycle will open in March 2027.

2026 GRANT RECIPIENTS

The Wade Trim Foundation awarded seven $7,500 grants for projects that positively impact the environment, communities, and quality of life through innovative infrastructure investments. Originally planned as five awards for 2026, there are two additional recipients this year in honor of Wade Trim’s 100th Anniversary. Congratulations to the 2026 recipients and thank you for the positive work you do in our communities!

Youth-led chapter teams will execute hands-on shoreline and wetland restoration projects along NYC waterways, including Jamaica Bay, the Bronx River corridor, and the Sunset Park waterfront in Brooklyn.

Climate Cardinals

A comprehensive stream restoration effort will be implemented at Mitchell Creek Meadows, a formerly degraded area, to establish it as a regional demonstration site for watershed restoration in an urbanizing landscape.

Conservation Resource Alliance

A rain garden and green space will be installed in an urban area to create habitat for pollinators and wildlife, reduce urban island heat effect, and establish an outdoor teaching space.

Friends of the Rouge

A playground and public community space will be improved with modern, accessible equipment to encourage healthy outdoor activity and provide a safe, engaging space for children of all ages and abilities.

Kiwanis Club of Allen Park

Inclusive campus infrastructure upgrades will enhance safety and accessibility for students and young adults with developmental disabilities to engage in physical activity, therapeutic programming, and job training.

Project Focus

A residential home is being built for young adults with developmental disabilities who wish to remain in their community. Supported improvements include a handicap ramp to connect the home to an outdoor social area.

Supporting Independence in MI

Using engineered rain gardens and a bioswale, vacant lots will be transformed into a high-performing green infrastructure system by reducing runoff volume, slowing flow, and filtering pollutants before they reach Nine Mile Run, a stream feeding into the Monongahela River.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Executed Form W-9 certifying eligibility

Last 3 years of your organization’s audited financial statements

Project information including purpose, demonstrated need statement, population served, anticipated outcome, and plan for ongoing maintenance of the completed project

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

An applicant must be a US-based governmental entity or public charity described in Code Sections 170(c)(2), 2055(a)(2), 2522(a)(2) and 501(c)(3) that:

Does not discriminate based on race, age, ancestry or national origin, sexual orientation, gender, physical or mental disability, or religion.
Is not a political organization, a political action committee, or a house of worship. (We accept applications from organizations with religious affiliations if the project is not specific to or primarily benefits a religious group).
Agrees to provide photos of the completed project or progress photos for a period of 3 years following receipt of the grant.

WHAT WE CAN’T FUND

Grants to individuals, including scholarships
Grants to organizations that have any pending issue before the Internal Revenue Service that may result in a change to current tax-exempt status
Operational support, including salary, wages, or any compensation to consultants, contractors, or advisors (for more information visit, AccountingTools.com)
Grants to faith-based institutions or institutions with a faith-based mission
Advocacy
Travel support
Capital campaigns
Sponsorships, conferences, or prizes

REQUIREMENTS FOR GRANTEES

Please note nonprofits that are awarded a Wade Trim Foundation grant are required to complete an Impact Report Form approximately one year after receipt of funds to help us measure the impact of our grants. The form and additional communications will be sent to grantees directly.
