Tammy Mathews, CSP, SMS, CET, received the Florida Energy Pipeline Association’s (FEPA) 2022 Safety Award in recognition of her leadership and professional commitment to strengthening Wade Trim’s safety culture and practices. FEPA represents energy transmission pipeline operators and firms providing professional services to those operators. FEPA is dedicated to sustaining an efficient and reliable transmission pipeline industry in Florida through member education and information sharing that emphasizes safety, pipeline integrity, social and environmental stewardship, and cost-competitiveness.

As Wade Trim’s Safety Manager, Tammy has worked to create and maintain a safety culture where employees learn, teach, and practice safe work behaviors in the field and office. She routinely performs compliance audits and updates safety processes, policies, procedures, and practices as needed to maintain regulatory compliance and meet client needs. Tammy assesses field activities and ensures appropriate safety controls are being implemented on projects. In addition, she contributes her expertise to FEPA as a member of their Safety Committee, which works to support member companies in enhancing their safety programs with a focus on employees, utility contractors, customers, and the public.

Tammy received the award on July 21 at FEPA’s 2022 Summer Symposium in Key West, FL.
