John Weiland, PE, was recently named 2024 Professional Engineer of the Year by the St. Louis Chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE). A Senior Project Manager in our Water Resources Group, John has 27 years of experience in wastewater, stormwater and construction management projects. His career includes extensive work designing collection system improvements to rehabilitate aging infrastructure, address capacity limitations, and manage wet weather overflows. John regularly manages large wet weather infrastructure projects throughout the Midwest, including CSO storage and treatment facilities, wastewater pump stations, and sewer pipelines.

An active member of regional and national professional associations, John seeks opportunities to support the engineering industry and mentor younger engineers. His involvement spans the Missouri and Nebraska Water Environment Associations, American Society of Civil Engineers St. Louis Section, Water Environment Federation, Environmental Water Resources Institute, and the Engineers’ Club of St. Louis.
